July/August crafting 2023

Knitting projects

A pair of regular socks and a pair of bed socks.

I picked up the yarn back in April while in New York.

Store is Knitting City.

Yarn (DK) is Five Borough in the colour way—Anyone can wear the mask(spider man)

Paper crafting 

Crates to hold the grandchildren hot chocolate kits this Christmas

                                        At the scrapfest in April I was able to get the Spillbinder 2021 card club

                                            kit for less than half price. These are the first three I made from the kit.

                                                                     They will be for next year.

Sewing projects 

Nightgown for DGD. Colours are more soft than how it looks.

       

                                    Our church took part in making receiving blankets for the neonatal unit at a   children’s hospital. These are the four I made. Pink is solid with embroidered flowers around the edge. Blue have stars and clouds. Softer pink has balloon dogs.

June 23

A couple of June knitting projects.

First is the headband &fingerless gloves for yDD Christmas gift.

Yarn is Filcolana Arwetta in Hunter green

Pattern for headband is Frida and knitted with two strands

Gloves pattern is fairy fingers

2nd project was 3 dishcloths for a birthday gift

2are done using Estella cotton spray in the colour way Canada

1 is done using Capri eco cotton in the colour way raindrop splash

Bookmark on front of card design came from the book

Ultimate cross stitch birds magazine.

                           

July cards for church ladies using retro summer paper

and Tattered lace floral bouquet die.

Marble type paper was used for the die cutting it out with a double sided tape on the back of the paper at time of die cutting

Stamps used were a gift from same DD and no name on stamp sets but were a dollar store crafts buy.

 

April and May/23

 

My Mother’s Day gift from my children. A fun different type of crafting. 

Mother’s Day gift bag and card.

The bag is made from some Ann of green gables fabric I had left over from another project. Instead of buying a paper gift bag I chose to make MIL a bag. A bag that’s not too big making it easy to throw in her purse. Card is a leaf shape card. A idea from Pinterest.

A UFO baby quilt top finally done. Pattern is called Ice crystal. A paper piece pattern. It was a quilt challenge quilt by the Quilters inner circle on Facebook.

Saw this idea on the internet and ran with it. Took all my ribbons off their rolls and wrapped them around the piece of cardstock seen below. The following two pictures are the before and after pictures.

The bag is what they use to put their yarn in. Its decorated with knitting items.

Paper crafting for these two months

Seed packets for a friend who loves to garden and to save seeds. I included some small labels for her to write the name of the seeds/plant letting her decide where she wishes to put them.
