December 2022 crafting

Managed to get the last few Christmas gifts done in time.

The first is the Double thick hat by Kareema Ali.
Knitted using Patons troy socks yarn in Grey Marl and Gentry Grey
Knitted for my SIL

Necklace and bracelet I made for my DGD to put inside the
jewelry box we gave her for Christmas

Tea towel I made for my oldest DD to go
with the dishcloths I made her for Christmas.
Pattern is Chamomile tea towel by Fiona Munro

This is the Christmas card I made and sent out
to the ladies from our Church that I have been assigned to
keep a eye on.

Made a shoe bag to fit my running shoes from left over fabric so I can carry them to my fitness class this winter.

Pillowcases I made to replace the ones that go with our winter sheet sets. They were getting a little to thin. One set of sheets is a light pink and I was going to go that way with the new set but DH felt that the darker pink would go better so he got to pick the shade of pink.

Made some little notepads for some friends and instead of wrapping them I did a little wrap around them and added a few feathers, balls on a stem and a bell ornament.

This is block two of a quilt I am making for my DGD.

It was done last spring but forgot to post the picture.

I got it all folded up to put in the pillowcase and realized I forgot to take a picture. Took one of it folded.

September crafting

I turned the lanvad hat pattern into a cowl. Made a couple changes to the pattern by doing only 2 inches of ribbing at the beginning. Hat had the pattern just for part of the hat--front but I took the pattern all the way around and didn't do the decrease at the top.

I got the idea from seeing the display at Galt's house of yarn were I purchased the yarn. The owner made the pattern as it was written but as a cowl. Yarn used was Illimani Amelie in Aqua.

Halloween cards

                                                                 Thanksgiving cards

Gift tags using There's snow one like you! stamp set

Sympathy cards. First set with dies. Second with clipart

feathers from the dollar store. Third set using floral paper for

the background and the butterflies are stickers.

August crafting

My new fall dishtowel. A kit I grabbed a few years ago from A stitch in time at a creative festival that I forgot about and found when cleaning up my craft room.

Birthday calendar I made. Got the kit online. Painted the hearts and circles with Ivory paint. Used the label maker to add day and name to front. Year born/died on the back. Used hearts for us, our children and grandchildren. Circles for parents, siblings and their spouses. If I were to add all the nieces and nephews it would have to hang from the ceiling.

September cards. Do need to make one more as the church added another name to my list. Used the You Autumn know and Autumn foliage stamp sets

Hedgehog hot pads. Pattern Hedge fun by Susie C Shore. Fabric used was left over from the table topper/runner I made for yDD. These hot pads will be added to the runner gift for her birthday. The patchwork bag below is also left over fabric from runner. Figured DD’s could use it to store runner when it’s not on her table.

Just a little card I made and sent off. Thinking it just might be the design for the male birthday cards next year.

Couple table toppers I made to put on grandma’s sewing machine and under the table turner. They are reversible.
I made nine dishcloths and three cubbies for gifts. Two sets for Christmas and the third for next Mother’s Day. I used I love this cotton yarn from hobby lobby. Colours from top to bottom are 342–pink/green/purple, 366–moonlit frost and 370 sunlit sea foam.

Sympathy cards were made with spellbinders Be Bold blooms dies.

July crafting 2022

The only crafting I managed to get done this month was a dishcloth and the following paper crafting.
The crafters paperwork shop store is having a summer challenge for the months of July and August. I decided to take part in the July challenge. The store provides the kit and rules. You than make whatever from kit.
I chose to make three summer pages for next year planner, DGS birthday card and treat box.

The last picture is off my August cards

August cards Just kept them simple.

June crafting

Cards from a embossing class. The heart and butterfly didn’t get sayings onto at time of class as i wasn’t sure what I would use them for.  Butterfly ended up a get well soon and the heart cards got a big hug stamped on it and sent to a close friend who received word that the dr’s decided that she needed to continue (repeat last round) of cancer treatment.

DD’s July birthday card, sympathy and Valentine card. B-card was stamped with one of the stamps from the friendship set and than embossed in antique gold. Hearts embossed with ruby tensel, pippin pink, copper penny and poppin blue. Butterfly in gold and party pink opaque.
Birthday card for second daughter— December b-day
Cards being sent out in July to church ladies. Stamp is friendship in black ink and coloured in using metallic water colours. Used actual lace.
Last Friday of June our church lady group did a paint night and for this one the leaders decided to paint flower pots. We were given a lesson on painting a branch with cherry blossoms. The other one we were sent home with it to do at home. It was also pre painted white. I repainted it a blue and painted it with hearts in gold, baby blue flower and added dots around the top.

Country fair table topper quilt. Designed by Kim Diehl for This simple whatnots club 11. Fabric is from Kim Right as rain collection for Henry Glass Fabrics. I got the kit from Border Creek Station quilt shop. Finish block size is 3” and includes 32 different fabrics.

April/May crafts

Sarah’s birthday present.
Sarah requested a crochet type sweater for her birthday in July. She send me a picture of the child size and asked if I could make her something like it and shortly afterwards sent me a picture of the adult one. She requested it in either white, hunter green or black.

The pattern is called  “It’s Shawl Good” Cardigan. Child size pattern is free and the adult pattern is a paid pattern on Annie’s. I made it in white using lionbrand coboo yarn. I think it would look lovely in hunter green (or a dark green) but could not find that colour in a #3 yarn. If I do come across I may grab it and do her another one in the green.

Birthday card for my Mother in-law using spellbinders stitched medallion and impressabilities flower. It looks a little on the green side but blue card stock was used.

Cards I made for May. I used Elizabeth craft designs floral 5 dies. Cutting them out of circuit pastel sticker paper and adding a little ink to the edges of them. Used the same floral die for the Mother’s Day card(pink card)

The next three card pictures are cards made from the Cherish card kit. I made the cards and gave them as a gift. The first picture is cards I made from left over bits and pieces adding a couple butterflies from my stash to a couple of them.

June cards I made.  Used a free clip art off the internet for the strawberries.
