A bunch of little things

Been busy making a bunch of little crafts. Mostly gifts and a item or two for me.

First off is a pair of Shirl's Mittlets for me made with Nirvana yarn. In a soft bluest-purple looking yarn(colour #72)which I combine with their white yarn. I made a little change to the pattern by adding a few more rows to the thumb and fingers length for a little more coverage. I also chose not to do the cable design on my pair.

Made a bunch of owls. Pattern is called Little Lark Lavender Sachet and can be found on gingermelondolls.blogs Posted on Sunday February 23, 2014. I made 9 total 3 of the pink and two each of the other three. They will be used for pkg toppers this Christmas. One will be for me.
I did make a little change in the order of putting them together--once the eyes were inserted but before they were locked into place I embroidery the lashes into place. Much easier to do so before than after as part of the lash stitches need to go under the actual eye. I used the same fabric on all the owls for their tummy. Rest of the owl is made with felt.

I made some Christmas cards and a birthday card. Below are the two different cards I made.
The fox ones I found by a email sent to me from splitcoaststampers. The fox card design is by Gloria Plunkett. For the Christmas ones I used snowflake punches instead of flowers and than used the flowers for DD birthday card.

Once a month there is a knitting night at the local branch of our public library. At the last knitting night we made some stitch makers.

When looking through my sewing supplies to do a little mending I found some animal head buttons. Do not remember why I purchased them or where I purchased them. I most likely got them at the creative festival a few years back thinking they were cute. Someone posted on a forum I visit about making ribbon bookmarks. So I thought that I would turn the buttons into bookmarks for the grandchildren who are all book worms. Will stick them in with their Christmas gifts.

With the left over yarn from the shawl I made DD for her December birthday I made DD a pair of Shirl's Mittlets making them the same way as I did my pair. The cable pattern is actually part of the pattern that I didn't do on my pair. The wrist has a row of black yarn that was used as trim on the shawl. With the black yarn, shawl yarn and some wine colour yarn I had laying around I made the headband you see below. I plan to give it to DD as well. I used a pattern by Vanna White as a guide.
