El’Ejin

Dragon El’Ejin is a tiny little dragon and a request from my DGD. She will receive this as a birthday gift this coming weekend.

The pattern is by Anastasia Kirs and can be found on Ravelry.

The pattern called for one strand of embroidery floss. Tried it but found as I tried to separate the strands they broke and it was so hard to work with. I pulled out pearl cotton 8 and used it. It did take some time to make it. I used French knots for the eyes as I didn’t have the tiny safety eyes called for.

2021 Christmas ornaments

For my two daughters I madePrairie Point star by supermomnoca. Posted November 5 2015. She made them bigger using 5 inch squares of fabric and I made mine using 3.5 inch squares.

For the grandchildren I made some knitted ball ornaments for the grandchildren. The pattern is from yarnspirations and it was a simple knit pattern. I did do a couple rows less of each colour having just 6 peaks instead of seven to fit the balls I had. 

Once they were done DH and I both agreed that they looked just too plain. I dug into left over items from pass craft projects that I hung onto just in case and found the gold leaves and red balls. They were the perfect fix. 

I than when and made little bags to hold them. The fabric was left over from a cap I had made for my DGD dress up box a few years ago.

Snowman quilt and a hat

 A couple years ago I had ordered some quilting supplies during a quilt shop Christmas treat event and this quilt panel came in the box of items I purchased as a gift. I finally got around to quilting it.

I had to purchase the backing which is Blue snowflakes by Kate Wara Thacker for Springs Creative products. It was also used for the binding. The snowman panel is Snow Valley by Cynthia Coulter for Wilmington prints.

Since I had the yarn still in one of my knitting bags from another project and was in need of something to knit for the library zoom knit night I pulled it out and knitted it up.  A Christmas craft project is done.

Boneyard shawl

About a year and half ago there was a trunk show at my local knitting shop. Shall we Knit? had The Blue Brick yarn company come in for it. The owner brought in with her a shawl she made using this yarn and I loved it. So home with me came home Point Pelee Lace in Quth Nimar colour way. 

The pattern both her and I used was the Boneyard Shawl by Stephen West on Raverly.

 

Male birthday cards for 2021

Between Jan 10 and the Feb 26th I needed 4 male birthday cards for just my family-DH/Son/SIL and DGS, with a couple more by July. As they are all going to different homes except for two of them I decided to make 5 of them the same.

For the sixth I when ahead and used the February/snowman card I made for my monthly card set. I ended up with two for February when I made them. 

I do need to make one more male card before July and found one partly started so my yDGS will get it when finished for his April b-day.
