April and May/23

My Mother’s Day gift from my children. A fun different type of crafting.

Mother’s Day gift bag and card.
The bag is made from some Ann of green gables fabric I had left over from another project. Instead of buying a paper gift bag I chose to make MIL a bag. A bag that’s not too big making it easy to throw in her purse. Card is a leaf shape card. A idea from Pinterest.

A UFO baby quilt top finally done. Pattern is called Ice crystal. A paper piece pattern. It was a quilt challenge quilt by the Quilters inner circle on Facebook.

Saw this idea on the internet and ran with it. Took all my ribbons off their rolls and wrapped them around the piece of cardstock seen below. The following two pictures are the before and after pictures.

Trip to New York yarn shop visit—knitting city
Five Borough yarn in the colour way—Anyone can wear the mask (spider man).
The bag is what they use to put their yarn in. Its decorated with knitting items.

Paper crafting for these two months
Seed packets for a friend who loves to garden and to save seeds. I included some small labels for her to write the name of the seeds/plant letting her decide where she wishes to put them.

June cards. Jar label saids welcome summer.

Couple of birthday cards.

May cards

Couple cards sent to some friends—just because

Couple of my grandsons are graduating this year.

March crafting 2023

Birthday cards and last of the birthday gifts:
The owl card is for my youngest grandson birthday which is in the middle of April.
The other card is for my granddaughter who’s birthday is this week. The card is made from a make and take kit from The Papercrafter’s workshop store. A percentage of the sales for these kits goes to The Yellow Brick House.

The doll shawl was made with left over yarn from a shawl I made for myself. I used flower buttons left over from another project and little hair clips. Didn’t have enough yarn to make it large enough for a 18inch doll but she has other dolls as well.

Hat for my oldest Daughter. Pattern is Oslo hat using Sandness yarn Sunday

and Tynn silk  mohair in Blue Haze. It’s now in gift closet and the colour is a little

darker than it shows in the picture.

Easter crafting items including DGD Easter dress.

Only took pictures of one of each the box’s/bags for Easter treats

February 2023 crafts

Sewing projects:

I made a couple pockets to hold some bags I made. The yellow one matches the new one I made this year. The other one-blue one holds an older bag that needed a new pocket. I attached a latch so I can attach it to my purse especially my crossover.

I made a couple outfits for my DGD 18 inch doll for her birthday. The coat and hat are made from fabric I had. The jumper, top and hat are made with scraps from the fabric I purchased for her Easter dress which I still need to make.

I need to make some cord holders for my phone chargers etc as well for DH so these are those. I also made a large one to use on my iron as I got tired of it being all over the place.

When I purchased the fabric for my Christmas apron I purchased 4m to be sure I got enough as I was buying it in the states. I had a nice little piece leftover and it was enough to make a shopping bag giving me a special bag to use during the Christmas season.

March cards for friends

Baby card to welcome friends granddaughter.

Knitted tea towel as part of my MIL mother day gift. It will be added to the dishcloths I made last year and tucked away.Just need to make a card and her gift will be ready to go. The pattern is called Chamomile tea towel using sand RS barn line in farge.

Doll blanket as part of the baby gift. Made with Bernat baby softee in flannel and white. I used the yarn left over from the s baby sweater.

Sewing projects for January

Shopping bag and its holder. Nothing fancy—made from some heavy fabric I had laying around as I wanted to try it out. Have a Christmas fabric one cut out from fabric left over from the apron below.

My Christmas apron has seen better days so I made a new one. Very simple one but a reversed one. The side with the squirrels as a little more winter look to it and the other side country Christmas look with sleds, tractors and the red truck with some pretty houses. It’s hard to tell but the truck side has some deep pockets.

My pjs. Love the flannel fabric

December 2022 crafting

Managed to get the last few Christmas gifts done in time.

The first is the Double thick hat by Kareema Ali.
Knitted using Patons troy socks yarn in Grey Marl and Gentry Grey
Knitted for my SIL

Necklace and bracelet I made for my DGD to put inside the
jewelry box we gave her for Christmas

Tea towel I made for my oldest DD to go
with the dishcloths I made her for Christmas.
Pattern is Chamomile tea towel by Fiona Munro

This is the Christmas card I made and sent out
to the ladies from our Church that I have been assigned to
keep a eye on.

Made a shoe bag to fit my running shoes from left over fabric so I can carry them to my fitness class this winter.

Pillowcases I made to replace the ones that go with our winter sheet sets. They were getting a little to thin. One set of sheets is a light pink and I was going to go that way with the new set but DH felt that the darker pink would go better so he got to pick the shade of pink.

Made some little notepads for some friends and instead of wrapping them I did a little wrap around them and added a few feathers, balls on a stem and a bell ornament.

This is block two of a quilt I am making for my DGD.

It was done last spring but forgot to post the picture.

Painting I did at paint night with oldest daughter.

Couple knitted items. The fingerless mitts are for me in mint colour. Hat I made two from left over yarn from DH sweater. They will be donated.

DS quilt—Cakewalk queen size.
I got it all folded up to put in the pillowcase and realized I forgot to take a picture. Took one of it folded.
