skirts, sweater, top and a dress

Been awhile since I posted any sewing/crafting. Last few months I have been slowly getting some sewing in for me while dealing with a rotary cuff injury.

The floral pink dress below was made using Burda style 6627 pattern

Finally made myself a knitted sweater using Berroco comfort knitting worsted weight yarn in white and the Worn-open Cardigan design by Amy Herzog

 When floral again with this top. Yellow with purple flowers. I used the McCalls M7390 pattern. Plan to use this pattern to make a couple more tops.

I also made myself a couple skirts from Burda 6880. The pattern has two different skirt pattens on it. One longer without a waist band which you see here. I made this from some light denim fabric to wear while running errands or just at home.

  The second pattern on the Burda skirt pattern is knee length, splits at the two side front seams and the middle back plus it has a waistband. It was made with a dresser navy fabric.

Easter dresses

Here are the dresses I made for my DGD and her 18 inch doll for Easter.

I used Butterick B6201 and made the drop waist version of the pattern.

                          This close up of the fabric shows the actual colour of the fabric better than the
                                                      dresses does. Its a light green.

Although DGD got lots of clothes for her 18 inch doll for Christmas I could not help but make her doll another matching Easter dress.

Easter gift bags, boxes and tags

              These are the gift tags that will go on the matching 

gift bags posted right below.

              Below is some little gift boxes filled with some chocolates and one of the bag toppers.
             The bag is covered with little colour dots so I thought it would be best to keep the topper        
              simple.

One of our daughter loves unicorns and so when we came across this rubber duck we picked it up for her. We decided to give it to her for Easter. It is sitting in the gift box I made for it. The box closed up can be seen in the picture right below it.

The cardstock for the box above is pink and gold.

The gift tags on the little boxes came from glenda-jsworld.blogspot.com. I found them while looking at another tag on pinterest  but forgot to save so I can't say what the date of the blog was for them.

The stamps used for the bag toppers and on the bag tags came from Feb 2019 make special cards magazine. 

The die used on the bag tags is from spellbinder.

Easter banner

I made myself a Easter banner to put across my mirror by the front door. I used med purple yardstick for the backing and two different shades of pink paper although the one doesn't look pink. Than a rose print paper for the circle.
And finally for the letters I used a lighter purple cardstock. After cutting them out and glueing them to the banner I took a metallic purple colouring pencil to the outer edge of the letters to outline them and make them a little darker.
Right now the banner is attached to some pink yarn but will stitch it out with some pink cotton yarn once I get a dishcloth made.

Monsters and little girls

When I pulled out my cross stitch supplies to make the bookmark in yesterday posting I found that I had started on the above project but manage to forget that I had.

The ones on the right are from a set of patterns called Monster mayhem by Lucie Heaton and are for the grandsons.

The ones on the left are from a set of patterns called Hello, dolly! by Durene Jones. One is for my granddaughter and the other for a friends daughter.

Both sets of patterns can be found in the 2015 365 cross-stitch designs magazine. They are backed by felt and have a hanging loop attached. They will be placed on the top of their ornament box under the tree. Guess I better get busy and get their ornaments finished-another UFO.

April cards and a bookmark

Couple grandchildren have birthdays in April so I have made a couple cards and as part of one gift a bookmark.

 The bug card with the little girl is for my dear granddaughters birthday next week. Thought the combo bugs paper and a little girl all dress up is perfect for her. She loves to wear dresses and pretty things in her hair but also loves to look for/pick up bugs whenever we are out and about.

The bookmark is for my youngest grandson who has his birthday the middle of April. He is a bookworm through and through. The pattern is by Ursula Michael and one of many patterns in her set call Set sail for summer. The collection can be found in the 2015 365 cross-stitch designs magazine. I have another project going on from this magazine and I see a few more designs that I want to make up for little gifts as well.

The triangle print pattern card stock under it is a quick little holder I made to hold but the bookmark and a gift card to the local bookstore. I than use the little bit of card stock left over to make the front of his card.

My tept at makingJewellery

Over the three day family day weekend back in February my DH and I were able to get away for the weekend. We headed to Frankenmuth Michigan. Did a little Christmas shopping at Bronner's but also hit the shops in the River place shops as well as the shops downtown. Among the River place shops is a shop called the Bead shop. I picked up the heart beads, the bead on the necklace along with a couple other beads. Cannot remember where I purchased the flower ones other than someplace here in Ontario.

First attempt at making earrings. Think I did ok but some parts certainly aren't round in shape like they should be but am happy with them.
